Diploma in Project Management — Diploma at London School of International Business and Management

Diploma in Project Management

Course Overview

The Diploma in Project Management at the London School of International Business and Management (LSIBM) is a Level 4 practitioner qualification for candidates ready to own a project rather than coordinate one — a step-up project manager at a UK consultancy, a delivery manager inside a bank, or a first-time PM at a public-sector programme. Sitting inside the Business & Management faculty, the Diploma covers planning, budgeting, earned-value tracking, risk management, stakeholder governance and structured project close.

The Diploma runs over 9 to 12 months and is available on-campus in central London, fully online, or by distance learning. Tutors include working practitioners drawn from Association for Project Management (APM), PRINCE2 and PMI communities, and the closing assessment is a full board-facing project pack for a simulated London delivery. The sections below cover modules, audience and progression.

Key Features

  • Curriculum reviewed against APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) and PRINCE2 Practitioner content.
  • Three study modes — central London campus, fully online, or distance learning — with the same tutor cohort.
  • Real-world assessment: a board-facing project pack — scope, plan, budget, RAID, benefit case — for a London delivery.
  • Working practice on Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana and Monday.com at a PM level.
  • Direct articulation into the LSIBM Advanced Diploma or Higher Diploma in Project Management.

What You Will Learn

The Diploma builds a working project manager. You will finish able to inherit a project mid-flight, produce a credible baseline plan, run governance, defend a variance in an executive steer-co and close a project cleanly with lessons learned.

  • Project planning at PM level — WBS, network analysis and critical path.
  • Budgeting and cost baselines — CBS, estimating techniques and contingency.
  • Earned value management — CV, SV, CPI, SPI and forecasting to complete.
  • Risk management — qualitative and quantitative registers, Monte Carlo basics.
  • Stakeholder governance — steer-co design, escalation routes and RACI clarity.
  • Change control — CR discipline, impact analysis and baseline reset.
  • Waterfall, PRINCE2 and agile hybrid delivery choice.
  • Benefits realisation, lessons learned and closing a project properly.

Who This Course Is For

  • Project coordinators ready to run their first project as PM.
  • Team leads with informal project responsibility formalising their practice.
  • PMO analysts moving into a delivery-manager seat.
  • Consultants inheriting client-facing project responsibility.
  • Career changers with strong organisational skills moving into delivery from operations or admin.

Why Study at LSIBM

The London School of International Business and Management (LSIBM) is a specialist business-education provider based in central London and part of Harold International College. We teach in small cohorts so every student is visible to their tutor, run a single intake schedule that students can rely on, and partner with UK professional bodies — CMI, CIM, CIPD, ACCA, CIMA, CFA UK, CIPS and IOE&IT — so qualifications carry weight with employers.

London puts the City, Canary Wharf, Whitehall, Companies House, the FCA, the Bank of England and the West End within a short tube ride of every classroom. Diploma cohorts run structured cohort clinics with working practitioners — a Big-Four tax adviser, a CIM Fellow in marketing, a CIPD-chartered HR director — so students meet professional expectations well before graduation.
