Terms & Conditions

Last updated 12 August 2026

These terms govern the use of the HIAHEA website and participation in the awards, honours, and recognition framework operated by the Harold International Awards & Higher Education Authority.

1. Scope

These terms apply to nominations, assessments, conferral of distinctions, honorary recognition, and use of this website.

2. Nominations

Nominations must be submitted by an eligible party using the published form, and must include evidence sufficient for the claim to be assessed and verified.

3. Assessment and decisions

Assessment is carried out against published criteria. Decisions are final, subject only to the appeals route set out below.

4. Conferral and use of awards

Recipients may state the award, its area, and the year conferred. Awards may not be described as accreditation, licensure, or a qualification.

5. Honorary recognition

Honorary recognition is conferred at the discretion of the academy, against established criteria, and may not be solicited in exchange for payment.

6. Fees

Where an administrative fee applies it is stated before submission. Fees cover assessment and record keeping and are not a payment for an award.

7. Withdrawal of an award

An award may be withdrawn where evidence is later found to be inaccurate, incomplete, or misrepresented. Withdrawal is recorded on the award record.

8. Appeals

An appeal may be made on grounds of procedural irregularity or material factual error, in writing, within twenty-eight days of the decision being issued.
