BSc in Business Operations
Course Overview
The BSc in Business Operations at the London School of International Business and Management (LSIBM) is a three-year UK honours degree for undergraduates targeting operations, transformation and COO-office graduate roles across UK mid-market operators, corporates and consultancies. Sitting inside the Business & Management faculty, the degree combines senior CMI Level 5 operations content with APM practitioner-level material, senior CIPS category-management practice and academic operations theory, and closes with a dissertation and an applied capstone.
You will undertake a live process-improvement brief in year two (a UK mid-market operator or public-sector programme), take an optional lean or digital-ops strand, and defend your final-year dissertation and applied capstone in front of a working operations practitioner. The BSc in Business Operations is available on-campus in central London, fully online with UK / APAC cohort calls, and by distance learning from 2026.
Key Features
- Curriculum reviewed against senior CMI Level 5, APM practitioner and CIPS category-management competencies, so the degree lands in front of UK operations recruiters.
- Three study modes — central London campus, fully online with UK / APAC cohort calls, or distance learning.
- Year-two process-improvement brief with a UK mid-market operator or public programme.
- Optional lean or digital-ops strand — Six Sigma green-belt or ERP / RPA implementation.
- Structured placement route — a UK mid-market ops team, a Big Four operations consultancy, or a public-sector transformation.
- Dissertation and applied capstone reviewed by a working operations practitioner in the final year.
What You Will Learn
The degree organises operations around the working questions a UK operations manager faces — how does the process actually flow, where does it break, how do we fix it, and how do we hold the improvement. You will graduate operating as a credible entry-level UK operations graduate.
- Process mapping — SIPOC, swim-lane, value-stream at practitioner level.
- Lean and Six Sigma at yellow-to-green belt.
- APM practitioner project management.
- Category management at senior CIPS level.
- Digital-operations tech stack — ERP, workflow, RPA.
- Operations KPIs — OTIF, first-time-right, throughput.
- Business continuity, incident response and crisis leadership.
- Sustainability and net-zero operating decisions.
- Research skills, dissertation method and applied capstone.

Why Study at LSIBM
The London School of International Business and Management (LSIBM) is a specialist business-education provider based in central London and part of Harold International College. Undergraduate cohorts sit in small groups so every student is visible to their tutor, run a single intake schedule students can rely on, and every degree route is reviewed against UK professional-body competencies — ACCA, CIMA, CIM, CIPD, CMI, CIPS, CFA UK and IOE&IT — so graduates carry a credential that City recruiters engage with.
London puts the City, Canary Wharf, Whitehall, Companies House, the FCA, the Bank of England and the West End within a short tube ride of every classroom. Undergraduate students access a fortnightly practitioner clinic, at least one industry-careers day per academic year, a structured placement route and one-to-one application coaching in the final year.
