MSc in Content Marketing Strategy
Course Overview
The MSc in Content Marketing Strategy at the London School of International Business and Management (LSIBM) is a one-year UK Master's for candidates targeting head-of-content, editorial-director and content-strategy-lead roles at UK challenger brands, scale-ups, publishers and creative and content agencies. Sitting in the Marketing, Media & Digital Business faculty, the programme covers editorial strategy, SEO and organic distribution, paid amplification, measurement and a live content-programme capstone defended before a working CIM Chartered Marketer or a PPA-registered editor.
The MSc is shaped around the CIM Chartered Marketer route, the Content Marketing Institute framework and the PPA editorial-standards practice. Study runs one year full-time (two years part-time on the online or distance routes) and is available on-campus in central London, fully online with UK / APAC cohort calls, or by distance learning. Each student is allocated a dissertation supervisor drawn from a working content-and-editorial pool at cohort start.

- Executive-application coaching for head-of-content and editorial-director searches in the final term.
What You Will Learn
The MSc organises content marketing around the working questions a head of content actually owns: which editorial pillars justify the resource, which channels earn the audience, how to measure whether the content moves the business, and how to defend the plan to a UK CMO who wants attribution on a single line item.
- Editorial strategy — audience mapping, pillar architecture, content-mission design.
- SEO strategy at senior level — topical authority, information architecture, technical SEO governance.
- Content distribution — owned, earned and paid channel design, syndication, community.
- Content operations — briefing, workflow, editorial calendar governance, quality control.
- Content commerce — commercial content, sponsored content, native advertising, ASA rules.
- Video, audio and long-form editorial — production models and platform strategy.
- Content measurement — attribution, incrementality, brand-lift, revenue-attributed content.
- Generative-AI in content production — editorial-quality controls and disclosure.
- Content ethics, PPA editorial code and the ASA advertising rules (CAP and BCAP).
- Dissertation on an original content-marketing question, supervised end-to-end.
