A six-step path from enquiry to enrolment.
Every applicant is guided by a named admissions advisor from the day they enquire to the day they walk through the doors at Shelton Street. The process below is the same one our most recent intake followed.
From enquiry to your first lecture
Express Interest
Submit an enquiry or attend an open day. An admissions advisor responds within two working days with tailored guidance.
Prepare Your Application
Gather academic transcripts, English language evidence, a personal statement and two references. Our team reviews drafts on request.
Submit Application
Apply through the LSJHML admissions portal. There is no application fee for international students until 31 March.
Interview & Portfolio Review
Selected candidates attend a 30-minute online interview. Journalism and Creative Writing applicants submit a short portfolio.
Receive Your Offer
Conditional or unconditional offers are issued within 10 working days. Scholarship results are communicated alongside the offer.
Accept & Enrol
Confirm your place with the enrolment deposit, complete CAS paperwork (international) and join induction week.

Pick the pathway closest to your background — an advisor will confirm the exact requirements with your offer letter.
Undergraduate
Bachelor degrees, Higher Diplomas and foundation pathways for students entering higher education.
Postgraduate
Master's degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas for graduates seeking specialist depth.
International
Non-UK applicants from any country — with regional advisors and visa support.

Apply at least 6 weeks before your chosen start date.
What applicants ask us most
Yes. Applicants with significant relevant work experience can apply via our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) route. An admissions advisor will review your portfolio and recommend the most suitable entry point.
