The journey

From enquiry to your first lecture

Every LSTITM applicant is guided from the day they enquire to the day they walk into their first lecture — online or on campus. Here is the path most students follow.

Step 01 · Day 1

Compare the study modes

Read side-by-side details on online and on-campus learning at LSTITM, review the term calendar, and decide which route fits your circumstances.

Step 02 · Week 1

Book an advisor conversation

Schedule a short call with a course advisor to talk through your goals, timelines and any questions about fees, entry requirements or visas.

Step 03 · Week 2

Shortlist your programme

Browse the LSTITM catalogue, save the courses that match your ambitions and confirm the intake you want to join.

Step 04 · Week 3

Apply through the portal

Submit a single online application with qualifications, references and a personal statement. Our team reviews drafts on request.

Step 05 · Week 4–5

Confirm your route

Once your offer arrives, accept online, pay the enrolment deposit and lock in whether you'll study online or on the London campus.

Step 06 · Week 6

Start your first term

Join induction week — live online or in-person at Shelton Street — meet your cohort and begin your first lectures with your named tutor.

Study Options — Questions & Answers

Everything you need to know about learning online or on our London campus with LSTITM.

In most cases yes, subject to visa status and available places on the receiving cohort. Speak to LSTITM admissions before the end of the term you wish to transfer from — we will confirm eligibility, fees and any paperwork required.

Live seminars are streamed each week through our secure virtual classroom, with breakout groups for smaller discussions. If you cannot attend live, recordings are available on demand for the remainder of the programme.

Yes. Every online cohort has scheduled one-to-one video sessions with academic tutors, monitored written feedback on assessments and a subject-specific mentor throughout the year.

International students studying on-campus in London will typically need a Short-term study visa or Student visa depending on the length of the programme. Our admissions team supports you through the CAS and visa process step by step.

Both routes give you access to LSTITM's guest lectures, industry visits and alumni network. On-campus study naturally offers more in-person contact around London, while online students join the same events via livestream and can attend optional short residencies.
