How does the Advanced Diploma in Air Cargo Management differ from the higher diploma in international air cargo management?

The two are related qualifications at similar levels with overlapping audiences. The advanced diploma tends to emphasise management-level decision making and is often chosen by people coming from solid cargo operations backgrounds.

Will the advanced diploma cover dangerous goods compliance?

It builds awareness of the regulatory environment, including DG principles, but hands-on dangerous goods certification typically requires separate IATA-accredited training.

Is the Advanced Diploma in Air Cargo Management suitable for freight forwarder staff, not just airline employees?

Yes — freight forwarders and ground handlers are core audiences for this qualification, alongside airline cargo teams.

Can it be studied online?

Yes — distance and blended modes are typically available, which lets working cargo professionals study without leaving their roles.

How long does the diploma take?

Most learners complete it within around a year on full-time study, longer on part-time. Final duration depends on intake and is confirmed at enrolment.

Advanced Diploma in Air Cargo Management

Advanced Diploma in Air Cargo Management at HICL

The Advanced Diploma in Air Cargo Management is for people who already know what an airway bill is and who want to move up. It targets those handling air freight day to day - at airlines, freight forwarders, ground handlers or integrators - and gives them a structured route into management-level roles within the cargo industry.

It is more demanding than an entry-level cargo qualification. Expect deeper engagement with operations planning, capacity management, regulatory compliance, customs and the commercial side of air freight.
