UK Higher Diploma in International Housekeeping and Accommodation (IHA007)

UK Higher Diploma in International Housekeeping and Accommodation (IHA007) at HICL

Housekeeping is one of the most under-appreciated departments in any hotel, and one of the most consequential. Guest reviews live or die on the state of the room. The UK Higher Diploma in International Housekeeping and Accommodation (IHA007) is for people moving from room-attendant or floor-supervisor work into proper accommodation management.

This is a supervisor-to-manager level qualification. It assumes you have stood on a floor, worked a turn-down service, and dealt with the realities of linen, par stock, lost-property and chemicals. The UK Higher Diploma in International Housekeeping and Accommodation gives you the management vocabulary, the systems thinking and the planning skills to step up.

The Operational Reality

Executive Housekeepers run large teams, often the largest in the hotel, with significant labour cost exposure and tight quality targets. Productivity, deep-cleaning schedules, contractor coordination, pest control, refurbishment planning and the integration of housekeeping with rooms division and engineering all sit on their desk. The diploma reflects that scope.

Who This Diploma Is For

• Senior room attendants and floor supervisors moving towards Assistant Housekeeper roles.
• Assistant housekeepers preparing for Executive Housekeeper positions in international properties.
• Accommodation managers in serviced apartments, student accommodation and senior living.
• International hospitality professionals targeting roles in branded hotel groups.

Career Pathways

Graduates of the UK Higher Diploma in International Housekeeping and Accommodation (IHA007) typically progress into Assistant Housekeeper, Floor Manager, Executive Housekeeper and Accommodation Manager positions in international hotels, serviced residences, cruise lines and resort operations. Some move into rooms division management or hotel operations more broadly. Salary and progression depend heavily on the property type, market and brand.

How the Programme Is Delivered

The diploma is offered on-campus, online and through distance learning, which suits people already on rota in operational hotels. Practical case-study expectations and intake schedules are confirmed at enrolment.
