MBA in Marketing Management
Course Overview
Running a modern marketing team means owning brand, growth, content, paid media, data and a regulator-watched compliance trail simultaneously — and the MBA in Marketing Management at LSCT is the one-year postgraduate degree built for marketers who want that level of seniority. Sitting inside the Business & Commerce department and taught from our central London base across on-campus, online and distance-learning routes from 2026, the programme combines strategic marketing with the analytics, digital and leadership skills UK CMOs now expect from their next hires.
You will run real-style growth experiments, build a brand strategy on a live UK brief, manage a paid-media budget under measurement scrutiny and complete a capstone leadership project on a UK or international firm. By the end of the MBA in Marketing Management you will be able to write a board-quality marketing strategy, defend a paid-media budget under CFO challenge and walk into a head-of-marketing or senior-brand interview already at home in the room.
Key Features
- UK postgraduate MBA mapped to CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) Level 7 and CMI (Chartered Management Institute) Level 7 competencies.
- Three study modes — on-campus in central London, fully online with live brand-strategy seminars, or distance learning with monthly milestone deadlines.
- Live UK brief — students respond to a real-style RFP from a UK challenger brand and pitch to a panel of working CMOs.
- Paid-media budget exercise — students plan, execute and measure a small live paid-media budget under tutor oversight.
- Module on UK ad regulation covering ASA / CAP Code, ICO direct-marketing guidance and the PECR rules for digital channels.
- Capstone leadership project with a UK or international firm where places are available, supervised by working senior marketers.
What You Will Learn
The MBA in Marketing Management is structured around three taught semesters plus a capstone. You will graduate able to set a marketing strategy, lead a multi-discipline team, defend a budget and report uplift to a board.
- Strategic Marketing and Brand Architecture
- Consumer Insight, Behavioural Science and Market Research
- Digital Marketing and Performance Channels
- Marketing Analytics, Attribution and Measurement
- Content Strategy, SEO and Generative AI in Marketing
- UK Advertising Regulation (ASA, CAP, PECR, ICO)
- Marketing Leadership and Organisational Design
- Customer Experience and Loyalty
- Capstone Marketing Strategy Project
The teaching pattern is intentionally practitioner-led. Each module pairs taught content with at least one applied exercise — a real published filing, a working consulting deck, an actual board paper or a live UK regulatory question — and you are expected to read, comment and contribute. That working rhythm gives our graduates the day-one credibility UK commercial employers test at interview, and is part of why our placement and graduate-job conversion rates compare well with much larger UK providers.
Who This Course Is For
- Marketing managers and senior executives moving into head-of-marketing and CMO-track roles.
- Senior brand, growth or digital specialists ready to broaden into strategic leadership.
- Career changers from sales, account management or PR entering integrated marketing roles.
- International applicants targeting UK CMO-track positions requiring a recognised postgraduate qualification.
Career Pathways
MBA graduates step into senior marketing roles across UK retail, fintech, FMCG, healthtech, the public sector and the major UK challenger brands. The MBA in Marketing Management is calibrated to make you credible in a head-of-marketing interview from your first month. Typical destinations include:
- Head of Marketing (scale-up or mid-market)
- Brand Manager (FMCG or retail)
- Growth Marketing Lead
- Senior Digital Marketing Manager
- Marketing Strategy Consultant
- CRM and Loyalty Manager
The MBA also serves as a strong foundation for postgraduate research in consumer behaviour, marketing analytics or brand strategy.
You will also build the network that underpins UK commercial careers: an alumni community across the FTSE 250, the consultancies and the scale-up cluster, a working tutor team drawn from current practice, and an annual industry careers afternoon at which UK recruiters take CVs and book follow-up conversations with current students.
Entry Requirements
- A UK 2:2 honours degree (or international equivalent) in any subject — at least three years of professional marketing or commercial experience is strongly preferred for this programme.
- Applicants from non-cognate fields may apply with five years' senior professional experience in marketing, sales, PR or commercial roles.
- IELTS 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0) for non-native English speakers.
- A personal statement, two references and a short marketing brief (500-800 words) responding to a UK challenger-brand problem.
Across the programme you build the commercial fluency UK boards now expect at every level: clean numbers, sharp written communication, defensible decisions and the ability to read a room. Guest sessions with working consultants, finance leaders and senior operators give you direct insight into how UK businesses actually run quarterly reviews, board meetings and strategic decisions under pressure.
Why Study at LSCT
The London School of Commerce and Technology (LSCT) is a specialist higher-education provider based in central London and part of Harold International College. We teach in small cohorts so every student is visible to their tutor, run a single intake schedule that students can rely on, and partner with UK professional bodies so qualifications carry weight with employers. London puts Whitehall, the City, Silicon Roundabout, the Royal Courts of Justice, the West End and the NHS estate within a short tube ride of every classroom — and our students use that proximity in their projects, placements and graduate job hunts. For marketing students that proximity is decisive: the agency clusters of Soho and Shoreditch, the UK FTSE marketing teams and the major media owners all sit within a tube journey of our seminar rooms.
Our graduates work across the London commercial economy — from the Magic Circle adjacencies of the City to the SaaS clusters around Old Street, the consulting houses of the West End and the FTSE 250 head offices that span Mayfair to Paddington. LSCT's employability team keeps an annual employer map current and brokers introductions where it can, and our alumni network spans UK firms and international employers.
