These terms govern the use of the HIAC website and the accreditation, complaints, and appeals framework operated by the Harold International Accreditation Council.
1. Scope
These terms apply to use of this website and to accreditation applications, complaints, and appeals submitted to HIAC.
2. Submitting an accreditation application
Applications are submitted using the published accreditation application form and should accurately describe the institution, its provision, and its accreditation history. Supporting documents are not mandatory at the initial enquiry stage; HIAC will confirm what is required once eligibility has been reviewed. Submitting an application does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted.
3. Assessment and decisions
Applications are assessed against the applicable accreditation categories and standards published by HIAC. Decisions are communicated in writing to the primary contact named on the application.
4. Use of accreditation status
Where accreditation is granted, an institution may describe itself as accredited by HIAC for the category, scope, and period stated in the decision, and may reference its listing in HIAC's register of accredited institutions. Use of the accreditation mark or logo is subject to HIAC's Accreditation Mark / Logo Usage Policy, available on request.
5. Withdrawal of accreditation
Accreditation may be withdrawn or amended where information provided is later found to be inaccurate, incomplete, or misrepresented, or where an institution no longer meets the applicable standards.
6. Complaints and appeals
Complaints and appeals relating to HIAC or an accreditation decision are considered under the process set out on the Complaints, Appeals & Policies page, which explains how a complaint or appeal may be submitted and how it will be handled. That page, not this one, is the authoritative statement of the complaints and appeals process.
7. Use of this website
This website and its content are provided for general information about HIAC and its accreditation framework. Content may be updated from time to time and is not a substitute for the specific standards and decision confirmed for an individual application.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last revised.
