How is the Bachelor in Real Estate, Finance & Hotel Development different from a property degree?

A general property degree covers residential and commercial real estate broadly. This degree is specifically tuned to hotel and hospitality development alongside the underlying finance.

Do I need a hospitality background to apply?

No. The degree is taught from foundational principles. Interest in both real estate and hospitality helps you get the most out of it.

Will this degree lead to a job in a hotel development team?

Many graduates target exactly those roles. Specific outcomes depend on your CV, network and the market cycle.

Is it internationally recognised?

Yes. Hotel investment is a global industry and UK degrees are widely respected. International students should also check Home Office guidance for any UK visa questions.

Can I complete the degree online?

Yes — on-campus, online and distance options are available.

Fees vary by mode and intake. Contact admissions for current details.

Bachelor Real Estate, Finance & Hotel Development

Bachelor in Real Estate, Finance & Hotel Development at HICL

The Bachelor in Real Estate, Finance & Hotel Development is an unusual but useful combination. Hotel and resort assets are at heart a real-estate business that happens to serve breakfast, and the people who understand both sides — the property and the operation — are the ones who get hired into development teams, investment funds and asset management roles.

This three-year degree treats real estate, finance and hospitality development as deeply connected rather than separate disciplines, and that framing is what makes it different from a generic property degree.

Why this combination is genuinely commercial

A hotel deal involves a piece of land, a building, a brand, an operating contract and a financing structure. Get any one of those wrong and the whole transaction wobbles. The Bachelor in Real Estate, Finance & Hotel Development trains you to read all five at once — valuation, debt and equity structures, management agreements, brand standards and the operational economics that drive a hotel's yield over time.
