Certificate in International Air Cargo Management

Certificate in International Air Cargo Management at HICL

Most people do not realise how much of the global economy moves overnight in the belly of a passenger jet. Pharmaceuticals, electronics, fresh produce, e-commerce parcels and time-critical spares all rely on air cargo to make their delivery promises real. The Certificate in International Air Cargo Management is a short qualification for people who want to step into that quietly essential part of aviation.

It is entry-level and practical, designed for school leavers, logistics workers and career changers stepping into freight, forwarding or airline cargo operations.

Why Air Cargo Deserves Its Own Discipline

Air cargo lives in a different world from passenger aviation - bound by dangerous goods rules, special handling categories, security regulation, customs paperwork and the realities of multi-modal logistics. The Certificate in International Air Cargo Management treats this seriously, building foundational knowledge of cargo acceptance, documentation, regulations and the workflow between freight forwarders, ground handlers and airlines.

Who This Certificate Suits

• School leavers attracted to logistics and aviation rather than passenger-facing roles.
• Freight forwarder staff wanting formal recognition of their work.
• Warehouse and logistics workers moving into air cargo specifically.
• Career changers from supply chain or shipping looking to add air freight literacy.

Career Pathways

Graduates of the Certificate in International Air Cargo Management typically move into roles such as cargo agent, freight coordinator, cargo documentation officer, customer service representative in cargo, and junior operations staff with freight forwarders and ground handlers. With experience, progression into supervisor and operations management positions is achievable. Specialist dangerous goods, customs or live animal handling roles usually require additional certifications.

How the Programme Is Delivered

The certificate is delivered through structured units, applied exercises and case-style learning. Both on-campus and distance-learning routes are supported; intake dates and module sequencing are confirmed at enrolment.

Entry Requirements

• Completion of secondary school or equivalent.
• An interest in logistics, freight or aviation.
• IELTS 5.5 (or accepted equivalent) for non-native English speakers.
