Level 7 Diploma in Project Management

Level 7 Diploma in Project Management at HICL

The Level 7 Diploma in Project Management sits at postgraduate level and is designed for people who already manage projects and now need a structured, senior-level framework for what they do. It is not a beginner's introduction to Gantt charts; it assumes you have lived through real projects, real budgets, real conflicts and real recovery.

If you are a project manager being asked to handle larger budgets, multi-stream programmes or stakeholder groups that include directors, the Level 7 Diploma in Project Management is built around the discipline required at that level.

Why senior project work is different

Junior project management is about tasks, timelines and a single team. Senior project management is about portfolios, dependencies between projects, benefit realisation and the political reality of competing priorities. The Level 7 Diploma in Project Management treats the discipline at that scale, drawing on programme governance, risk frameworks, change management and the soft skills that decide whether a programme actually lands or quietly stalls.

Who This Diploma Is For

• Senior project managers preparing for programme manager or PMO lead roles.
• Operational managers absorbing project portfolios alongside their day job.
• Consultants who deliver client projects and need a credible senior credential.
• Professionals from engineering, IT, construction or financial services moving into formal PM leadership.

Where Graduates Go

Graduates of the Level 7 Diploma in Project Management typically progress into roles such as senior project manager, programme manager, PMO lead, portfolio analyst, transformation lead and engagement manager in consulting. With experience, many move into head of programmes, director of delivery and chief of staff-type roles. Outcomes depend heavily on existing track record, sector, and the visible programmes you have delivered.
