Master in Psychology

Master in Psychology at HICL

The Master in Psychology is a postgraduate degree for people who want a serious foundation in psychological theory, research methods and applied practice. It is structured for graduates who have already studied psychology or a related discipline, and now want to deepen their expertise before pursuing applied, research or further specialist training routes.

If you are sitting on a relevant bachelor's degree, considering doctoral training, or working in a mental-health-adjacent field and looking for a credible postgraduate qualification, the Master in Psychology is built around that progression.

What postgraduate psychology actually involves

A serious psychology master's spends real time on research methods, statistical reasoning and the careful design of studies. It also treats psychological theory critically, asking how robust findings actually are and which have replicated. The Master in Psychology is not a shortcut into clinical practice; it is the foundation that supports thoughtful applied work and rigorous research projects.

Who This Master Is For

• Psychology graduates planning further training in clinical, counselling, educational or organisational psychology.
• Researchers and analysts in social sciences who need a psychology master's for their next step.
• Working professionals in HR, education, healthcare admin or public services who want a deeper psychology grounding.
• International students preparing for further postgraduate or doctoral study in psychology.

Where Graduates Go

Graduates of the Master in Psychology typically progress into routes such as further training for chartered status with a relevant professional body, research assistant and research analyst roles, applied roles in mental health support, talent and assessment positions in HR consultancies, and roles in education and public services. Specific licensure pathways — particularly clinical — require further structured training; the master's is a credible foundation rather than a complete licensing qualification.
