What is the difference between ACM050 and ACM060?

ACM050 is the foundation-level UK Higher Diploma in Air Cargo Management, focused on core operations. ACM060 builds on it with more advanced logistics, planning and management content.

Will this qualification include dangerous goods handling certification?

The diploma introduces dangerous goods regulations in principle. Operational DG certification is handled separately through IATA-recognised courses; we recommend completing one alongside the diploma if your role requires it.

Can I work outside the UK with this diploma?

Yes. Air cargo is a global industry. Local employer requirements vary, so check job adverts in the country you want to work in.

Do I need airport experience to start?

No. The UK Higher Diploma in Air Cargo Management (ACM050) is designed to be accessible to new entrants.

Can I study fully online?

Yes — online and distance modes are available, along with on-campus delivery.

Fees vary by mode and intake. Contact admissions for the current schedule.

UK Higher Diploma in Air Cargo Management (ACM050) at HICL

The UK Higher Diploma in Air Cargo Management (ACM050) is an industry-aligned qualification for people building a career in the freight side of aviation — the part of the airport that most travellers never see, where shipments are weighed, palletised, screened, documented and loaded under unforgiving time pressure.

It is designed for entry-level staff and emerging supervisors working in cargo handling agents, freight forwarders, airline cargo departments and ground services providers.

Why cargo is its own discipline

Passenger aviation gets the attention, but air cargo is what keeps electronics moving, pharmaceuticals in date, and e-commerce promises plausible. It runs on a dense layer of documentation — air waybills, dangerous goods declarations, customs forms — and a strict rhythm of cut-offs. Getting this right is partly knowledge and partly discipline. The UK Higher Diploma in Air Cargo Management (ACM050) builds both.
