BSc in Online Business Management
Course Overview
The BSc in Online Business Management at the London School of International Business and Management (LSIBM) is a three-year UK honours degree for undergraduates targeting digital-operations, online-trading and platform-management graduate roles across UK D2C brands, marketplaces and platform businesses. Sitting inside the Marketing, Media & Digital Business faculty, the degree combines CIM digital-marketing content with BCS digital-professional practice, IMRG UK e-commerce benchmarks and academic e-business theory, and closes with a dissertation and an applied capstone.
You will undertake a live online-business brief in year two (a UK D2C brand or a London-based platform business), take an optional platform-tech or analytics strand, and defend your final-year dissertation and applied capstone in front of a working UK Head of Online. The BSc in Online Business Management is available on-campus in central London, fully online with UK / APAC cohort calls, and by distance learning from 2026.
Key Features
- Curriculum reviewed against CIM digital-marketing content, BCS digital-professional practice and IMRG UK e-commerce benchmarks, so the degree lands in front of UK online recruiters.
- Three study modes — central London campus, fully online with UK / APAC cohort calls, or distance learning.
- Year-two live online-business brief with a UK D2C brand or platform business.
- Optional platform-tech or analytics strand — Shopify Plus, headless commerce, or GA4 and MMM.
- Structured placement route — a UK D2C brand online team, a marketplace or a subscription business.
- Dissertation and applied capstone reviewed by a working UK Head of Online in the final year.
What You Will Learn
The degree organises online business management around the working questions a UK Head of Online faces — how does the trading week actually run, how do we move on the tech stack, how do we grow retention, and how do we hold the numbers. You will graduate operating as a credible entry-level UK online-business graduate.
- The UK online trading week — merchandising, promotions, marketplaces.
- Tech stack — Shopify, BigCommerce, headless, composable.
- Fulfilment, returns and last-mile inside the UK.
- Marketplace strategy — Amazon, TikTok Shop, John Lewis Partners.
- Digital marketing — paid, SEO, CRM, influencer.
- UK GDPR and PECR compliance for online business.
- Analytics — GA4, attribution, cohort analysis.
- Product management and platform-business models.
- Research skills, dissertation method and applied capstone.

Why Study at LSIBM
The London School of International Business and Management (LSIBM) is a specialist business-education provider based in central London and part of Harold International College. Undergraduate cohorts sit in small groups so every student is visible to their tutor, run a single intake schedule students can rely on, and every degree route is reviewed against UK professional-body competencies — ACCA, CIMA, CIM, CIPD, CMI, CIPS, CFA UK and IOE&IT — so graduates carry a credential that City recruiters engage with.
London puts the City, Canary Wharf, Whitehall, Companies House, the FCA, the Bank of England and the West End within a short tube ride of every classroom. Undergraduate students access a fortnightly practitioner clinic, at least one industry-careers day per academic year, a structured placement route and one-to-one application coaching in the final year.
