BSc in Marketing Communication
Course Overview
The BSc in Marketing Communication at the London School of International Business and Management (LSIBM) is a three-year UK honours degree inside the Marketing, Media & Digital Business faculty, written for students targeting marcomms-manager, PR-lead and integrated-campaign careers at UK PLC, agency and in-house employers. It combines the core business curriculum with a full marcomms specialism — messaging architecture, integrated planning, PR, content and campaign measurement.
You will complete an in-house marcomms or PR placement in year two, work on a live UK integrated-campaign project in year three, and produce a dissertation defended in front of a working CIM Fellow or CIPR-chartered practitioner. The BSc in Marketing Communication is available on-campus in central London, fully online with UK / APAC cohort calls, and by distance learning from 2026.
Key Features
- Curriculum reviewed against the CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing, CIPR Diploma and IPA Excellence Diploma.
- Three study modes — central London campus, fully online with UK / APAC calls, or distance learning.
- Year-two placement at a UK in-house marcomms, PR or agency team.
- Final-year dissertation defended in front of a working CIM Fellow or CIPR-chartered practitioner.
- Live UK integrated-campaign project in year three.
- Campaign measurement teaching — reach, engagement, conversion, brand lift.
What You Will Learn
The degree is structured around what a working marcomms manager or PR lead actually delivers — a defensible integrated campaign plan, a messaging house that survives leadership scrutiny, a press launch that lands, a set of numbers a marketing director engages with.
- Integrated marketing communications at working level.
- Message architecture — messaging house, tone-of-voice, editorial standards.
- PR strategy — story angle, press engagement, embargo etiquette.
- Content marketing and editorial planning.
- Channel mix — earned, owned, paid, shared.
- Sponsorship, partnership and cause marketing.
- Digital PR and search-visible PR.
- Crisis communications basics.
- Campaign research and measurement.
- Dissertation methods and marcomms writing.

The BSc in Marketing Communication is the natural step onto MSc-level advertising and communications programmes and the CIPR Chartered Practitioner route.
Entry Requirements
- Three A-levels at BBC or above, or equivalent UK / international qualification (IB 28+, BTEC DMM, Access to HE, Foundation Year pass, or a relevant Higher Diploma with confirmed credit transfer) — confident written English is expected.
- GCSE English Language at grade 5/C and Mathematics at grade 4/C (or equivalent).
- IELTS 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0) for non-native English speakers.
